We care

The Moving Firm is dedicated to our communities.  Being a small, family owned company keeps your finger on the pulse of what really matters in our beautiful state of Pennsylvania.  So, we chose to pay it forward in the form of service and charity, both local and statewide.  Every time you book a move, you are supporting the research, funding, or volunteer efforts of these organizations and the people they impact.  Thank you.

Sadly, so many women are under attack, and are victims of abuse and other unspeakable acts of violence.  Here at The Moving Firm, we believe in the altruistic approach of coming together as a community to help our sick and suffering neighbors.  For every move, we donate $2.00 to the Women’s Center & Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh.  For information on how you can support the Women’s Center & Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh, visit www.wcspittsburgh.org, or call (412) 687-8005.

Here at The Moving Firm, we use Pittsburgh Cares, an affiliate of the HandsOn Network, to help us engage our community in a deeply personal way.  Every first Sunday of the month, The Moving Firm owners and employees volunteer in the Downtown Beautification Sundays.  It is a wonderful opportunity to use our skills to contribute to our city.  This is just one of the ways we say thank you for your continued support of The Moving Firm and its subsidiaries.  For more information on how you can join the volunteer effort, visit www.pittsburghcares.org, or contact Pittsburgh Cares at info@pittsburghcares.org or call (412) 471-2114.

In 2012, tragedy touched The Moving Firm family with the cold hand of childhood suicide.  Bullying, pressure to conform, and the difficult, often awkward time called puberty, all play a role in how our children view their self-worth.  We value our family and yours, so for every move, we will donate $3.00 to the IMALIVE effort against suicide.  In doing so, we hope to reach those we love and let them know, “You are not alone.”  For more information on how you can support IMALIVE, visit www.imalive.org, or contact IMALIVE at volunteer@imalive.org.
